What time is check in and what time is check out?
Check in at Atholl Palace is from 3.30pm and check out is up until 11am.
Is there somewhere I can store my luggage?
Yes, Atholl Palace has a room you can store your luggage in prior to check-in or after check-out.
Does Atholl Palace have accessible rooms?
Yes, Atholl Palace has accessible rooms, please let our reception know of your additional requirements and we can recommend the appropriate room for you.
Does Atholl Palace have an elevator?
Yes, The Atholl Palace has one elevator which services from the lower ground floor to the 3rd floor, there are rooms on split levels and above the 3rd floor which are only accessible by stairs.
Does Atholl Palace allow pets?
Atholl Palace Hotel does not allow pets in the hotel, other than service animals. Our self-catering lodges can accommodate dogs for a small fee.
Does Atholl Palace have a laundry service?
Yes, Atholl Palace Hotel has a self-service guest laundry on the lower ground level, detergent is available to purchase from the reception desk. The guest laundry is equipped with Washing Machines, Tumble Driers and Irons & Ironing Boards. *Guests use this facility at their own risk.
What time is the Stag’s Head Bar open until?
The Stag’s Head Bar is open from 11am-11pm, however, when there is live music the bar is open until midnight.
What leisure facilities do you offer?
The Atholl Palace has the following leisure facilities available for guests: Pitch ‘n’ putt, Putting Green Museum, Snooker Table, Pool Table, Guest Laundry, Swimming Pool, Steam Room, Spa Pool, and The Spa at Atholl Palace treatment rooms – advance booking is highly recommended.
Is the hotel family friendly?
Atholl Palace is ideal for families, we have a range of family rooms which can sleep up to 5 guests, with various layouts and some even have bunk beds! Atholl Palace also offers self-catering lodges which are perfect for a family getaway. There is a baby room with bottle warming facilities on the 3rd floor and there is an on-site guest laundry. Children’s menu is available in the Stag’s Head Bar and Verandah Restaurant and there is a wide range of family-friendly activities in and around the Atholl Palace Hotel.
How do I get to the Hotel?
- By Car: Postcode PH16 5LX for sat nav directions
- By Public Transport: Arrive at Pitlochry train or bus station, from there the Atholl Palace is walking distance, approximately 15 minutes, or taxi is 5 minutes – pre-booking is essential for taxis.
- There is a Shuttle Bus available from Pitlochry train station and bus stop to Atholl Palace Hotel, Pre-Booking is essential, to book contact the hotel at info@athollpalace.com
Does the Atholl Palace Hotel have a car park?
The Atholl Palace Hotel has a large car park which offers free parking for guests.
Which airport is closest to the hotel?
Edinburgh Airport is approximately 75 minutes from Atholl Palace and Glasgow Airport around 80 minutes.
What time is the restaurant open?
Opening Times for The Verandah Restaurant: Breakfast 7.30am – 10.00am, Lunch – 12.30pm – 4.00pm, Afternoon Tea 12.30pm – 4.00pm (you can take Afternoon Tea in the restaurant or relax in the lounge) and Dinner we offer two sittings – 6.00pm & 8.00pm.
Is there a dress code for dinner?
There is no dress code in The Verandah Restaurant, however, most guests tend to dress smart/casual but comfortable.
Do I have to book the restaurant?
We recommend booking the Verandah Restaurant, especially for dinner. Reservations can be made by contacting our reception desk.
Can the hotel cater to my dietary requirements?
Atholl Palace can cater for many common dietary requirements, if your needs are more complex we advise calling us in advance to ensure Chef can cater to your needs.
Does the bar in Atholl Palace serve food?
The Stag’s Head Bar serves food from 12.30pm-9.00pm, ranging from bar snacks to main meals. There is also a selection of crisps, peanuts and chocolate available.

Do you have free WiFi?
Yes, we have complimentary WiFi available in all bedrooms and public areas.
Do you provide car parking?
The hotel’s car park is for hotel residents only. You will be required to buy a permit, which can be purchased from reception. Permits will cost £5 per night. Car park spaces cannot be pre-booked and will be available on a first-come first-served basis. Once the car park is full you will have to use the town’s public car parks which are chargeable Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm.
Do you serve breakfast and what if you require an early breakfast?
Breakfast is served each morning Monday to Friday: 7.30am to 10.00am, Saturday: 8.00am to 10.30am & Sunday: 8.00am to 11.00am. Early Breakfasts are available on request from 7.00am daily.
How far are you from the train station?
The train station is accessible through our hotel gardens, literally a minutes walk.
How far is the theatre from the hotel?
Pitlochry Festival Theatre is ideally located just a 10 minute walk away from Fisher’s Hotel. We also offer a shuttle service which is complimentary for all our guests but we advise all guests to check availability and pre book their space.
How late is the hotel open?
We are open 24 hours, we lock the front door once we believe most guests are in, but we have a night bell that will alert the night porter.
Does the hotel have an elevator?
Yes, we have two elevators giving access to all floors.
What is PEEPs?
Is Personnel Emergency Evacuation Plan. If you believe you will require assistance if an emergency was to happen, please, contact the reception who will agree on a plan with you.
If we arrive early or have a late departure is there somewhere we can leave our luggage?
Yes, we have an area where you can store luggage before your check-in or after your check out.
I have a voucher. Why do I need to leave my credit card details?
It is a mandatory step in our booking process and no booking can be made without card details. If you are prepaid, there will be no charge to your card. When you arrive and you charge anything to your room, you will have the choice to pay with the card provided, choose another card or pay in cash.
If I need to cancel will I be charged?
We have two types of rates. Our prepaid rates do not allow any changes or cancellations. Our Best available or flexible rates allow free cancellation up to 48 hours before arrival, thereafter, we will charge for the first day of your stay.
Does the hotel have a pool, spa or gym?
No, but as our guest, you’ll enjoy exclusive perks at our sister property, Scotlands Spa Hotel, just a short 300-metre stroll away.

Do you have free WiFi?
Yes, we have complimentary WiFi available in all bedrooms and public areas.
Do you provide car parking?
Yes, but we do not book spaces it is first come first served. To avail of free car parking all guests must register their vehicle at check-in for the duration of their stay, non-registered vehicles may face fines for parking without authorisation.
Do you serve breakfast and what if you require an early breakfast?
Yes, we offer a full Scottish Breakfast and a fully stock continental selection. Breakfast starts at 7.30 am, but if you require something earlier than 6.30 am the continental selection will be ready. If earlier than that we can prepare you something to take away with you.
How far are you from the train station?
We are a short 5 minutes walk.
How far is the theatre from the hotel?
Pitlochry Festival Theatre is ideally located just a 15 minute walk away from Scotland’s Spa Hotel. We also offer a shuttle service which is complimentary for all our guests but we advise all guests to check availability and pre book their space.

We have a mix of either shower only rooms, or shower and bath combos. Please, let us know your preference when booking.

What if have not received my confirmation e-mail?
Try checking your junk/spam folder. If you have not received it 48 hours after making your booking, please, contact us on 01796 484900.
Where can I find information on local buses?
The timetables are printed at the bus stops. Going North, stay on the same side as the hotel, going South, cross the road. The bus stops are next to The Coach House Bar on Atholl Road, a two-minute walk from the hotel.
Does the hotel have a pool, spa or gym?
Yes, we have all of the above and more. Our Pool, Steam Room and Gym are open daily from 7am until 9pm. We have two Spa Treatment rooms where we offer a full range of treatments.
